In the case of killing of three policemen by poachers in Guna district of Madhya Pradesh, the police carried out a major action. Two accused of this massacre were killed in a police encounter. While one of the accused is believed to have been killed in retaliatory firing by the policemen, the other was killed in an encounter by the police yesterday (Saturday) evening, the official said. IG Anil Sharma transferred
A senior official said that till late evening, two accused were arrested, while the search for four others is on. Along with this, the Inspector General of Police (IG) of Gwalior region, Anil Sharma has also been transferred. They were transferred for reaching the spot late. D Srinivas Verma, who was appointed new IG in place of Sharma, said that two accused named Sonu and Jiya Khan have been arrested, while 4 others are still absconding and they have rifles of the slain policemen.
Policemen got martyr status
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan held a high-level meeting after the incident and announced an assistance of Rs one crore each to the kin of policemen who lost their lives and government jobs by giving them ‘martyr status’. State Home Minister Narottam Mishra told reporters that the incident took place at 3 am on Shahrok Road in Saga Barkheda village of Aaron police station area, about 160 km from the capital Bhopal, when the policemen had gone to nab the poachers.

On receiving intelligence about the presence of some poachers, a police team reached a place under Aaron police station in Guna district, he said. The policemen surrounded the miscreants from all sides. After this the miscreants started firing on the policemen, in which 3 policemen were killed. The deceased policemen have been identified as Sub-Inspector Rajkumar Jatav and constables Nilesh Bhargava and Santram Meena. SP Rajeev Kumar Mishra said that Santosh Giri, the driver of the private vehicle in which the police personnel were going, has been injured in the incident and is undergoing treatment at the district hospital.

Police sources said that the bodies of five blackbucks and a peacock have been recovered from the spot. SP Rajiv Kumar Mishra said that the accused have been identified as a resident of Bidhoria village under Raghogarh police station area. He said Shahzad Khan, one of the alleged attackers, was killed in an encounter with the police in the evening. Police personnel Dhirendra Gurjar was injured in the encounter, he said. The SP said that a 12 bore gun and 7 cartridges have been seized during the operation.
Bulldozers ran on the houses of the accused
A high level meeting was held at the Chief Minister’s residence after the incident. In which he, the Home Department of the state later issued an order for the transfer of IG, in which D Srinivas Verma has been appointed as the new IG in place of Sharma. The administration has demolished the houses of some of the accused. According to sources, the accused had gone on a hunt to get the meat of wild animals for the wedding feast in Naushad’s family.
