Jagatsinghpur girl set an example, married a lover who lost both legs in an accident

When Shakespeare used the phrase ‘love is blind’ in his play The Merchant of Venice, he might not have imagined it would become a sensation later. Love is a feeling that is felt from the heart. We often meet couples who do not make a good match according to us. In some cases, the girl will be too cute for the boy or in some they are different. But when you explore their love story, you will realize how accurate Shakespeare was in the 16th century. OTV brings you the true love story of a couple in this dog-eat-dog world.

At a time when women are looking to look beautiful with a hefty salary for marriage, a girl from Jagatsinghpur has set an example by marrying a disabled man. After seven years of courtship, Swapnarani Barik tied the knot with her love Jitendra Barik, a resident of Talcher.

According to sources, both came to know about each other through Facebook. They became friends and later they started chatting on social media. Then they exchanged numbers and started talking to each other. Meanwhile, Jitendra loses his mother and is shattered. Swapnarani came to Talcher to be Jitendra’s support in his difficult times. In the process, they fell in love and decided to get married. Their story did not end here.

One fateful day when Jitendra was on his way home from his workplace, he met with a road accident. Moaning in pain on the road, a speeding truck hit him. Doctors had to amputate both the legs to save Jitendra’s life.

After losing both his legs, he never thought that a girl like Swapnarani would ever accept him as her bridegroom. Swapnarani expresses her desire to marry Jitendra, proving him wrong. The couple got married on July 8 at a Shiva temple. He later had to remarry at the Deputy Collector’s office on 30 July for it to be accepted by the society.

Jitendra’s neighbor said, “Swapnrani has done a noble deed by marrying Jitendra. He proved that true love still exists in this selfish world. ,

Jitendra’s brother said, ‘Women generally want to marry good people. Despite knowing Jitendra’s financial and physical condition, Swapnarani came forward to marry him. I would like to urge the government to provide some financial assistance to Jitendra so that he can run his family happily. ,

Social activist Bapi Mohanty said, “This marriage has set an example for today’s youth. The younger generation should learn from this couple what is true love and how to maintain it.”
