Khargone Collector, SP, ASP transferred after a month of communal violence
A month after communal clashes broke out in Khargone, Madhya Pradesh, the state administration has transferred the District Collector, Superintendent of Police (SP) and Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP).
There was a big change late Saturday night.
Collector Anugrah P has been transferred to Madhya Pradesh Bhawan in Delhi as an Officer on Special Duty (OSD).
Ratlam District Collector Kumar Purushottam will replace Anugrah.
At the same time, SP Siddharth Chaudhary, who was injured in the communal violence during Ram Navami procession, has been transferred to Bhopal Police Headquarters.
Satna SP Dharam Veer Singh has been transferred to Khargone.
Khargone ASP Neeraj Chaurasia has also been transferred to the police headquarters and Manish Khatri has been appointed in his place.
The Khargone district administration and police were criticized for their failure to control the situation.
On April 10, one person was killed and 50 others were injured in a clash in Khargone, which erupted after some people allegedly pelted stones at a Ram Navami procession.
Acting against the stone-pelters and the accused, over 55 “illegal structures” were demolished by the district administration.
