The Assam Congress on Friday staged a protest outside the hotel in Guwahati where rebel Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde and other MLAs are staying. On Thursday, Trinamool Congress workers also protested outside the hotel.
Congress leaders alleged that there was flood in Assam and BJP was engaged in horse-trading of MLAs. During this, the leaders of Assam Congress also raised slogans fiercely.
Assam Pradesh Congress President Bhupen Kumar Bora has asked rebel MLA Eknath Shinde to leave Assam at the earliest.
He said that because of this all the media coverage is being done on the political crisis in Maharashtra and it is not good for the people of Assam as the entire state is facing severe floods.
Let us tell that due to the floods in Assam, lakhs of people have had to leave their homes and are living in refugee camps.
The state Congress President has said that it is completely wrong for the Assam government to give lavish respect to the MLAs of Maharashtra in the midst of the very bad conditions created due to the floods in the state and Eknath Shinde should leave the state at the earliest in view of the well being of Assam. Tight security outside hotel
Let us tell you that all eyes are on Guwahati regarding the political crisis in Maharashtra as the rebel and independent MLAs of Shiv Sena are staying at Radisson Blu Hotel in Guwahati. The security arrangements outside the hotel are so tight that it is very difficult for anyone to go around the hotel without permission.
There is a tremendous deployment of police outside the hotel and there is also a tremendous gathering of media. A Shiv Sena functionary has also been apprehended from outside the hotel. He had come from Mumbai to Guwahati to meet and persuade the angry rebel MLAs.
Earlier, all these rebel MLAs had stayed in Surat.
On the other hand, the political crisis of Maharashtra can now get entangled in legal tactic. Shiv Sena has filed an application for disqualification of 16 rebel MLAs in front of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Narhari Jhirwal.
The Deputy Speaker has accepted the Shiv Sena’s proposal seeking approval of Ajay Choudhary as the leader of the legislature party. Taking action after the revolt, Shiv Sena removed Eknath Shinde from the post of Legislature Party leader.
While two independent MLAs of the Maharashtra Assembly have demanded the removal of Deputy Speaker Narhari Jhirwal and said that Deputy Speaker Uddhav Thackeray is supporting the faction.
