Maharashtra’s Thane sees rise in daily number of cases, crosses 1K mark after months

Thane: After a gap of several months, the number of one-day COVID-19 infections in Maharashtra’s Thane district has once again crossed the 1,000-mark with 1,089 cases, an official said on Friday.

These cases were reported on Thursday, taking the total number in the district to 7,22,804.

As the virus claimed two lives during the day, the death toll in the district rose to 11,902, the official said, adding that the fatality rate is 1.67 per cent.
