Youth who attempted self-immolation dies outside Ganjam SP office

The youth, who attempted self-immolation by pouring petrol on himself in front of the Ganjam SP office on Saturday, allegedly succumbed to his injuries late last night. He was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.

The deceased, identified as Badal Sahu of Borigaon in Chhatrapur, allegedly resorted to self-immolation due to the apathy of the police. However, the actual reason behind the self-immolation bid is still unclear.

Ganjam SP Brijesh Ray said on Saturday that Sahu attempted self-immolation outside his office and an inquiry has been ordered into the incident. He further told that a complaint of misconduct was lodged against Sahu at Rambha police station earlier.
