A Maoist camp was busted in Labangada forest on Thursday during a joint operation by Kalahandi Police, SOG and DVF jawans.

As per initial reports, the militants fired upon the security forces using LMG and other automatic weapons. The joint operation was launched by the security forces after receiving credible information about the presence of CPI (Maoist) cadres in the area.

Senior police officials said the presence of senior cadres like Nikhil, Bunty, Dasru, Mamta and other cadres (about 30 cadres) is suspected in the area. More SOG teams have been deployed in the operation to wipe out the Maoists.

After the firing of the Maoists, the security forces retaliated by firing with UBGL and AK-47.

An official release said the Maoists withdrew from their camp due to heavy police retaliatory fire. Meanwhile, a Maoist camp was later busted and two IEDs, a booby trap, detonators, Maoist literature, umbrellas, solar plates, Maoist banners, torch lights, chargers, bags, electric wires, medicines and other camp material were recovered. done.

On June 21, three Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were killed in an ambush by Maoists in the Patadhara Reserve Forest of Nuapada district.

According to reports, the security personnel were moving from camp to camp around 3 pm when armed militants opened fire on them, killing three jawans and injuring several others.
